Vintage Electronics offers quality repairs on your Vintage Stereo Equipment. It is very difficult to find service centers that will repair vintage equipment. Although parts are sometimes difficult to find, we do an outstanding job of repairing your vintage equipment. We can do this because of our almost 35 years experience repairing home electronics. With a good description of the problems, you will receive an estimate of the total price including parts, labor, and return shipping. The price will only change in very rare situations such as finding that the unit has been severely tampered with, has parts missing, broken circuit boards, or the desciption of the problems is grossly inaccurate. This price will be for our COMPLETE SERVICE. We do require a $65.00 non-refundable payment (will be applied to the repair costs) to be sent with the unit (Paypal or credit card also accepted). We cannot start on your unit without the $65.00 payment. Within a day or two of receiving your unit, we will provide you with a firm, exact price for the repair. We have had to change our policy on this due to receiving many units lately that were in very poor condition. The estimated price we give you will rarely change. If we receive the unit and it is not worth repairing or the final price is refused, we will return the unit to you un-repaired. All repairs come with a 90 day warranty.
We specialize in repair of Marantz, Pioneer, Akai, Teac, Kenwood, Sony, and Sansui. We offer repairs of Receivers, Tuners, Cassettes, Reel to Reels, 8-Tracks, and most other items. We have great success in repairing those items that your local repair center will not work on or tells you they can no longer get parts for. While we successfully repair over 95% of all units received, we obviously can never give you a 100% guarantee that we will be able to fix your particular unit. But we will guarantee a 100% effort in getting all units fixed.
COMPLETE SERVICE: First off, the repair of any problems the unit may have. On cassette repair and reel to reel repair, all the belts will be replaced, idler tires replaced when possible, idlers thoroughly cleaned when not available, mechanism torn apart and cleaned, lubed, and adjusted, heads and drives cleaned and aligned, all switches and controls cleaned, and a general cleaning and alignment of the unit. In receivers, amps, tuners, etc, all the dial lamps will be replaced, any other bad lamps replaced, all controls and switches cleaned, alignment of the front end and MPX circuits, bias of the power amps check and adjusted if necessary, and a general cleaning of the unit.
GENERAL CLEANING: We do a general cleaning of the unit wiping off the outside of the unit, cleaning the knobs, cleaning the back panel, etc. We wipe off the larger surfaces inside the unit and blow out any excess dust. We do NOT dust under the resistors and capacitors, remove circuit boards to dust under them, etc. We do not do any cosmetic repairs to wood cases. We feel that you hire us for our technical abilities and the electronic repair of your units. It makes no sense for you to spend a lot of extra money for us to clean something you can easily do yourself for free. We warranty our repair services not our cleaning. If you receive your unit back and there is a fingerprint on the glass we missed, just wipe it off. No need to email us. We are a REPAIR service. If your car is broken you take it to a mechanic. If it needs washed you take it to a car wash. A complete restoration and cleaning of a unit will costs many times the price we charge to repair it. If that is what you are looking for, then we are not the people you need. We feel the service and prices we supply are what most customers are looking for so that is what we offer.
SHIPPING CHARGES: The return shipping charges are just what our cost is. No mark-up on the price.
