Vintage Electronics is located in Paint Lick, Ky. We offer full repair service on most classic stereo items, parts and accessories, and sales of refurbished units. We are constantly searching out sources for more parts and accessories to keep the great classic stereos alive and well.
A little about us. We have been working exclusively on home audio equipment since the early 70's. We have specialized in Reel to Reels, Cassette Decks, Receivers, and Amps over the years. They are what we know best. Through the years the repair business shifted to VCRs, CD players, and a host of plastic junk called stereo equipment. The emergence of the internet made it possible for us to again specialize in what we love.....Classic Stereos.
Our philosophy is to keep things simple and this website and our business reflects that philosophy. You ask us a question and you will get a straight forward short honest answer. We leave all the opinions to the "experts" on the forums. Our answers will be based on 35 years of experience of what works and what doesn't work, not on what we read last week on the web.
Why are the items we have for sale on this site more expensive than on Ebay? Well, a good portion of the repair work we do is on units that unsuspecting buyers purchased on Ebay that "Worked Great". As many of you know, things are not always as they seem on Ebay. A lot of sellers feel that if the lights (or at least some of them) come on, then the unit works. "Sold as is because of its age" gives them the justification to be "home free". You then have a unit that sort of works. Units sold on our website have all been gone through and fully tested. A warranty is given on all units and we do stand behind the warranty 100%.
Contacting us: Please email us with your questions and requests. DO NOT call us on the phone as we cannot respond to phone messages. We can answer your email faster than you can call information and get our phone number. We tried in the past to take calls but it took an enormous amount of time out of the day. If we spend that amount of time on the phone, we can't get all of our other work done. We know and am sorry that this policy rubs some people the wrong way. We thank all of the rest of you for your understanding. Our shop is not open to the public for visiting or browsing. A lot of web sites are very slow answering emails but that is not the case here. You will get quick to the point answers to your questions and the best service possible.
