Storing Belts

How to Store spare belts

We are often asked about the best way to store extra belts for future use. There are a lot of theories thrown about on the internet including storing the belts in your freezer. We decided to once and for all address this issue. We went to the source of our belts, Neil at Russell Industries/ PRB Belts. The optimal temperature for storing belts is 40 to 45 degs Fahrenheit. The problem with storing the belts in a freezer is that moisture may built up which is not good for the belts. If you have a cool basement or garage that is a good place to store the belts. A cool dry place out of the sunlight is your best bet. In most cases the shelf life of a rubber belt is about 8 years when properly stored.
